Private tutoring is available for students in
grades 1 through 12, as well as
some college students. Assessment tests are given in each area so as to point out the area or areas that need the most attention. The subjects tutored include
Mathematics: Students receive help in weak areas and receive tips on how to memorize formulas and steps taken in solving word problems. Algebra 1 &2, Calculus, and other higher-level math areas are taught. Standardized test preparation in math is also covered.
Reading: Students are given tips on how to identify the most important points in a passage so as to answer questions accurately, or write book reports correctly. Special attention is given to students with weak areas in reading. Tips are also given for standardized test preparation.
Language Arts: The parts of speech are reviewed, and students are taught how to study vocabulary and spelling using the learning style that works best for each individual.
SAT/ACT Preparation: Students are given pointers as to what to do to make use of the time given for the test. At the end of this session, students will take a timed practice test, which will then be scored.
Spanish: Students are tutored at in beginner, intermediate, advanced, and conversational Spanish. They will be given the opportunity to speak to Spanish-speaking natives as a way of practicing the language. Spanish is offered to anyone willing to learn the language.
